Lightning strike causes power outage at Walmart in Richland Township

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) – A lightning strike caused the Walmart in Richland Township to close Saturday night.
A spokesperson says a transformer in the back of the store was struck by lightning, causing the store to lose power.
They are working to repair the damage.
The store has refrigerated trucks on site to keep all the refrigerated items fresh.
There were no injuries, but the store will remain closed until repairs can be made.

Maryland officials are not yet releasing the name of the construction worker found at the request of the family.
The body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner's office and was positively identified on Monday, April 15.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), around 200 additional lawnmowers were recalled on top of the 391,800 lawnmowers and pressure washer engines recalled in September of 2023.

The caskets came from Trey Ganem of Soulshine Industries, based in Edina, Texas.
