Altoona Driver License Center to reopen following renovations

ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that the Driver License Center at 1738A 9th Ave. in Altoona will reopen. PennDOT says the center will reopen driver licensing and photo services Thursday at 8:30 a.m. after closing for nearly a month for renovations. Logan Twp. receives funding to construct new sports park & soccer fields, officials say

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — In Blair County, Logan Township officials are touting new funding that they say will help with the construction of multiple soccer fields. Officials say they were recently awarded $853,000 in funding for the sports park. The park will be located on a 100-acre piece of land located on the Juniata side of Altoona and the Homers Gap side of Logan Township. Man found guilty in wrong-way DUI crash on Rt. 219 that killed Johnstown woman Olivia Red

EBENSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — A West Virginia man on trial for driving drunk during a deadly wrong-way crash on State Route 219 in May of 2018 has been found guilty on all counts, a jury concluded Monday. Day four of the trial against, West Virginia man, Chase Turner took place Monday, where the jury was given the case to deliberate. Somerset County, PA — It happened on March 12th of this year, when a group of people reportedly went to a house on plank road to retrieve their belongings from an ex's home. The preliminary hearing for Cameron Cinko and Jermaine Cook was held today in Boswell. Officials say the home belonged to Chris Jones and he was defending himself when he shot the defendant Cameron Cinko. LOGAN TOWNSHIP -- Betty Jean Shade's murder is something former investigators won't forget, and it's now featured in a Netflix series about FBI profiling. "Shade was last seen alive on First Avenue in Altoona on Tuesday, May 29. She left her babysitting job around 10 that night and proceeded to walk home to 1410 Fourth Street about a mile away," former 6 News reporter Barbara Allen said in 1979. Penn State unveils new exhibit honoring Nittany Lion athletes who served in WWII
