BEDFORD CO, Pa (WJAC) — Detours have been announced for a section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bedford County this weekend, as crews will be working to remove a bridge, according to an announcement from the Somerset County Department of Emergency Services. Tyrone Ace Hardware collecting donations for Central PA Humane Society as part of annual fundraiser

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Ace Hardware in Tyrone is once again helping to raise money for a local charity this holiday season. This year's train theme for the fundraiser is "Thomas the Tank Engine." Visitors have the opportunity to visit the display and purchase raffle tickets for various prizes, that have been donated by local businesses. All of the funds raised will benefit the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society. Driver intentionally smashed into home's second floor in Pennsylvania, police say

New Conemaugh Valley scoreboard honors former player

JOHNSTOWN -- Conemaugh Valley unveiled a brand new scoreboard at its softball field Wednesday. The new addition honors a former Lady Blue Jay. Becky Castiglione and her family have been looking for a way to honor their daughter and give back to the softball program. Madison Stetson - who played on the first-ever Conemaugh Valley junior high softball team - died unexpectedly in 2010. Ribbon-cutting ceremony held at CamTrans natural gas fueling station

JOHNSTOWN -- The newest compressed natural gas fueling station in Pennsylvania opened Thursday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Local officials and dignitaries participated in the ceremony at the CamTran headquarters on Maple Avenue in the Woodvale section of the city. Big advancement toward final leg of four-lane Route 219 in Somerset County

MEYERSDALE, Pa. (WJAC) — It’s been a decades-long road for Somerset County leaders to get Route 219 as a four-lane highway completely through the county. Right now, that four-lane highway ends in Meyersdale where the road continues on a six-mile windy stretch to the Maryland border as a two-lane road. Now they’re hoping to complete that. Federal and county leaders celebrated Tuesday the $53 million of federal money that has been set aside to be used for planning, environmental regulation costs, and other pre-construction work like buying land rights, to connect the end of the four-lane expressway in Meyersdale, connect with Maryland’s four-lane Route 219 to Interstate 68.
