Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Members of the Faith Baptist Church in Altoona are getting ready to host their first ever live nativity.
It features real people portraying the roles of those involved in the story of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Visitors to the display will start at the Faith Baptist Church, located on 40th Street, where they will receive popcorn and hot chocolate and a QR code to use on their phones to listen to audio that accompanies the production.

Ebensburg coffee shop makes donation to local firefighter training facility, rec authority
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — First responders in Cambria County are getting support from a local business owner.
Kaley Kozian, the owner of the Bohemian Bean in Ebensburg, presented local responders on Tuesday with a check to go towards the Cambria Regional Firefighters Association training facility.
She also presented a check to the Cambria County Conservation and Recreation Authority.
She says the money comes from 25 percent of her sales, as well as her and her team's tips, that were raised back in April on Arbor Day and the day after.

Miles Township Fire Company Hosts Open House for Centre County Area First Responders
REBERSBURG/CENTRE COUNTY, Pa — The Miles Township Fire Company opened its doors to give first responders a chance to get to know the community on a personal level.
The fire hall played host to a number of first responders Saturday, including the Centre County Sheriff and the Pennsylvania State Police, who brought in a helicopter.

Suspected shooter, driver in custody in Philadelphia bus stop shooting that injured teens
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The driver and a suspected gunman are in custody in the shooting of eight Philadelphia high school students at a bus stop, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press on Monday.

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin signs bill on student overdose notification guidelines
ARLINGTON, Va. (WJLA) — Gov. Glenn Youngkin signed a bill Friday that requires the Virginia Board of Education to establish guidelines around school overdose notifications to parents.
The original bill included language that would have required schools to notify parents within 24 hours of student overdoses and that’s what Youngkin and all 40 state senators wanted.
However, Democrats in the House of Delegates took the 24-hour notice requirement out of the bill.

Community looks to help Cambria Co. fire department buy new truck
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — A community in Johnstown is coming together to help its local fire department after an unfortunate event.
In January, West Hills Regional Fire Department's ladder truck caught on fire, leaving the fire station without a critical piece of equipment.
It's been almost three months since the event and West Hills Fire Department’s fire chief Robert Tauber says they’re still not sure how much money the insurance will reimburse the department for a new truck that’s expected to cost between $900,000 to a million dollars.

Johnstown SERT receives donation to purchase new body armor
Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Every year, the global technology corporation Kongsberg hosts an event for its customer base.
This year they hosted the event in Johnstown, around Showcase for Commerce, and they met members of the Johnstown police department and SERT teams.
They began working together and learned SERT needed new body armor.
On Thursday, SERT members had a chance to tour Kongsberg’s local facility and then they received a much-needed donation which was used to purchase 25 new vests.
