ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — The Second Avenue United Methodist Church in Altoona hosted its first food bank distribution Friday.
The center was open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Organizers estimated that they served 150 people.
They said between 20 to 25 people from the church were on hand to help with the distribution.

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. (TND) — A pair of bald eagles in West Virginia has given birth to a baby eaglet, and the little one's first moments of life were caught on camera.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service National Conservation Training Center's Eagle Cam, stationed high up in a tree in near Shepherdstown, has been observing the lives of the two eagles named Bella and Smitty.
The proud new parents welcomed their eaglet Sunday afternoon after two days of rainy weather.

Coroner IDs victim of early morning fatal crash in Altoona
UPDATE | Altoona, PA (WJAC) — Blair County Coroner Patty Ross has identified the victim of Thursday's early morning fatal crash in Altoona.
Ross says 22-year-old Collie Brown was traveling at a high rate of speed, along the 10th Ave. expressway, when he collided with a light pole and a tree.
Investigators say he and a female passenger were ejected from the vehicle.
Authorities say the female passenger who was ejected was transported to UPMC Altoona.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa (AP) — John Chaney, one of the nation's leading Black coaches during a Hall of Fame career at Temple, has died. He was a commanding figure on the court and admired as much for his mentoring of players as for the team's success.
He became a de facto father to dozens of his players, many coming from broken homes. Chaney led Temple to 17 NCAA Tournament appearances over 24 seasons, including five NCAA regional finals.

The supermarket chain stated that starting late last week, suitcases, duffel bags, and bags larger than 14" x 14” x 6” that close have been banned at select stores in Washington, D.C.

Indiana County woman accused of sexually abusing young relative 20-30 times
INDIANA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — State police say an Indiana County woman is facing charges following an investigation into accusations that she repeatedly sexually assaulted a young, female relative over a period of five years.
Troopers say the victim reported that she had been sexually abused by Alyssa Isenberg, now age 21, approximately 20 to 30 times, from 2015 to 2020.
According to the affidavit, police say the alleged abuse began when the victim was just seven years old.

Local military support group planning second remembrance walk at PA Military Museum

Northern Cambria man accused of stalking woman, groping her at local grocery store
Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Northern Cambria Borough Police Department say a man is facing charges after he was accused of groping a woman at a local Giant Eagle store while she was working.
According to the affidavit, police say 65-year-old Timothy Depetro allegedly entered an "employee only" area of the store and inappropriately touched the woman while she was standing on a ladder.

Retired Conemaugh Hospital employee honored with parade
Storm Nagle retired Friday from Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center after 40 years at the hospital.
Nagle, a Belmont native, was surprised by family and EMS members from multiple counties in our area with an EMS parade.
